I-inc iH-252HPB 25″ Widescreen LCD Monitor – 1080p, 1920×1080, 15000:1 Dynamic, 800:1 Native, 2ms, 16:9 Review

I’ve had the monitor for a few months now and use it for the same thing the previous review stated s/he does. As a computer monitor I’ve connected it through DVI, RGB, and HDMI and never experienced the flickering. Instead, it was always what you’d expect with a nice clear picture. I played F.E.A.R. 2 on it was excellent.
I also used it for my PS3 via HDMI and played a lot of Modern Warfare 2. It’s quick and there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable lag. Connecting it was simple and fast. I used to use a 32″ LCD to game on but after playing on a smaller screen with some Tritton Pro 5.1’s I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a big screen for FPS games. It’s incredibly useful to not have to twist your head to look for enemies. Likewise you can sit closer and set it at eye level.
What’s it like beyond the fun had with it?
Well, it’s very basic with a black matte bezel and buttons on the bottom. The buttons function as they should but are slightly annoying to get at. Connecting to it is easy with all the connection options. There’s also a headphone out jack that’s useful but only if you use the audio in jack. It won’t pass HDMI audio to the headphone jack which I really would have loved. Reason being, as stated before the speakers are about on par with a set of laptop speakers. Controlling their volume is quite cumbersome since you have to do it in the menu. That’s really all there is for lows on this inexpensive beast though.
Otherwise, the screen is nice and viewing angles are on par with most screens this size and is no different then my 26″ Samsung tv. You might ask why don’t I use the 26″? That reason is resolution. This 25″ I-Inc has the full 1080 which when used as a computer monitor gives quite a bit more real estate vs. the 720 of the 26″. When it comes to the ps3, it really makes no difference but on the computer it’s incredibly important to me. Another positive this has over TV LCD’s of similar size is that it powers down when no signal is present. On TV LCDs they will only automatically power down when an RGB or DVI sources have no signal but stay on when the HDMI signals disappear. I can never remember to actually SHUT OFF my monitor each time I shut off the playstation.
Anyway, the colors are also good and you can tweak the RGB’s individually which is another thing you can’t normally do on a TV this size.
Overall, I’m very happy minus the speakers and the goofy menu.

Cheap, but breaks down quick! – ☼ –
1 month after I got it, a horizontal line across the screen appeared.. it changes its color depending on the picture, so it’s not the panel, but rather the electronics at fault. Now I need to call the I-Inc now and arrange for warranty repair. Not too happy about that.

I use it for Xbox and as an external display for my laptop, to watch Boxee, Hulu, etc.
Pros:
- low cost!
- decent picture quality
- HDMI connectivity
- 1920×1080 resolution is exactly 16×9 (as opposed to a “better” 1920×1200)
Cons:
- the built-in speakers are tiny, sound is no good for games/voice/movies
- the stand doesn’t tilt (much), swivel, or rise
I ordered from TiderDirect and they had free shipping. There was one hot pixel, which I fixed applying slight pressure.
Not Bad for the Money – Tripeee – Arizona USA
I purchased this monitor for 2 reasons – I needed a bigger monitor for my laptop when working on multiple documents and to connect my PS3 for fun.
The picture on this is average for an LCD – It’s plenty bright and the resolution for typical PC applications meets expectations.
When I connect it to the PS3 – The video is very good with no issues. Now the built in speakers are horrible and I don’t use them. I use a different output for my audio. The colors are pretty good – but I have noticed that with some games the colors appear to be a little washed out. You can change the settings, but for most of the things I do the defaults work ok.
The only issue that I have with this monitor is that I get a flicker when using it with the computer. Eventually it goes away – but it can be a little distracting.
